Review

"Birken Tree" is the first IONA release of the 3rd Millennium. It is a stunning blend of Celtic traditions - Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Manx, Cornish, Breton, Asturian and from the American Celts of Appalachia. The songs (many in their Celtic languages) and dance tunes are woven together with high energy percussion, world class piping and even some bombardes. With all traditional material in fresh, original arrangements, this is Pan-Celtic music at its best. Without a doubt this is IONA's finest offering.
