Review

Seattle native Jay Thomas first recorded in 1968 with James Moody; since then, he has been featured on over 50 albums! A remarkably versatile musician, he is equally at home playing the trumpet, flugelhorn, flute and saxophones. 'Rapture' features Jay Thomas with his regular Seattle-based trio of Travis Shook, Jon Wikon and Phil Sparks. As Doug Ramsey says, "Thomas provides the modern mainstream satisfactions of his trumpet, flugelhorn and tenor saxophone, which, if he were headquartered in New York instead of Seattle, might have made him as well-known as he deserves to be."
