“Pilgrimage” was released on the Ark Records label in 1989. A trip to France becomes a vehicle of a spiritual pilgrimage in Jeff Johnson's creative world. Of the many Johnson vocal recordings, “Pilgrimage” is one of his most personal, inspired by family and friends and segueing into a reprise of past Johnson recordings. Splendor in the ordinary is the theme of this CD; castles and cathedrals in France inspire meditations on the nature of life, the glory in Creation, family, the presence of God and the power of love. It's ten songs weave seamlessly into a musical composition full of depth and beauty.
