Review

Two Hands is a solo project of tunes and and songs performed by Joe Newberry. It is an intimate album that demonstrates Joe's facility on the banjo, fiddle, and guitar in addition to his sweet, relaxed singing style. A majority of the tracks are traditional tunes that sound completely current in Newberry's hands, and the four songs that he composed sound well rooted. Though many think of traditional Appalachian music only in terms of the string band, this CD reminds the listener of the power that a single, skilled performer can convey through this material.
