Review

This greatest-hits collection chronicles a dozen years in the career of the late country-soul singer. Tex, who died in 1982 at the age of 47, stepped out of the spotlight near the peak of his popularity after joining the Nation of Islam. As country as any of his soul-singing peers, Tex was master of the playful, down-home raps, best exemplified by "Skinny Legs and All."
