Review

If you google Frank Melrose you'll meet Jelly Roll Morton. The listing in the first Hot Discography of his piano solos, Pass The Jug and Jelly Roll Stomp, said that Frank Melrose was a pseudonym for Morton!

The two met when Jelly was being published by Melrose's brothers (Walter and Lester) who had promoted Jelly's classic Victor records. They spent a lot of time together checking out pianos and records and Jelly was a frequent visitor in Frank's home. But Melrose was no copycat - he had his own music. Complete notes enclosed by Bob Koester.
