Review

With their newest release, layers of primal sound and organic textures match the intensity of the lyrics that draw from the magickal to the classical. The album opens with Saved, a bombast of sound that calms to a haunting melody. A shuffling beat creeps underneath this instrumental. Bryin Dall weaves a cautionary tale of man's coexistence with Nature while a hypnotic keyboard riff holds you fast. Recurring phantom member Orson Welles orates a monologue from MacBeth as the band performs an industrial dirge through the Song of Solomon.

Covered in the Wild Roses is a Lovecraftian tale of the unreal that waits beneath our consciousness. If the Ancient Gods walked the earth, it would be to the rhythmic beats of this song. Next the band gets even darker with eerie keyboards that float above and around your ears as the lyrics pull you with their enchantment into the Center of Nothing.

Guest vocalist Genesis P.Orridge (Thee Majesty and Psychic TV) breaks down the human race whether we like it or not in The Disconnected. The album ends with Crawling Over the Face of the Moon as a love song done with the poetic styling of a gothic romance. You can see the mists rising off the moors as you look out of your dark and cold mansion.
