pamelasuemanns self-titled debut is a stirring journey to the quiet reaches of inner thoughts and pure emotion. Rather than nailing her hooks with obnoxious commercial bravado, pamelas carefully constructed arrangements are delicate and mesmerizing allowing her skill of creating solid pop songs to simply offer a gentle tug at your ear. The metaphysical nature of the tonal textures offers this album a firm position in what critics have been calling ethereal pop. This album is one that could easily capture the sophisticated pop audience that Duncan Sheik seemed to define so well.
