Review

Mink Jazz begins on an overly busy note, with Lee sounding noncommittal at best on a trifle called "It's a Big Wide Wonderful World." Soon, though, she finds her groove in lower-key moods ("My Silent Love") and a stack of standards she claims convincingly. Despite the 1963 album's title, though, the "jazz" element comes in by way of somewhat jive brass-and-wind interjections. But the star is in great voice, as the saying goes.
