Review

Perfectly titled, this collection leans heavily toward songs that appeal to kids while also bringing parents around to a smile and a sing-along. Kids will have a hard time resisting tracks like "Michael Row Your Boat Ashore" (with its rousing hallelujahs), "Put Your Finger in the Air," and "Here's to Cheshire, Here's to Cheese," all live recordings with scores of voices (mostly kids) singing along with gusto. There's great silliness and fun on narrative songs like "Henry My Son" and "Be Kind to Your Parents" and quiet moments of beauty on tracks like the instrumental "Nameless Lick" and the sweet "Little Birdie." "Hobo's Lullabye" may lull a toddler to sleep with its lilting train rhythm and "Cumberland Mountain Bear Chase" is sure to entertain with its imaginative story line. You can also introduce your kids to activism with "If You Miss Me at the Back of the Bus." --Lorry Fleming
