"I'm a big lyrics man - always have been, always will be - so it's a bit of a surprise when an instrumental album really blows me away. The last time it happened was probably Mogwai's Ten Rapid collection, and while Before and After Dinner is a slightly different beast, its equally enjoyable. At times beautiful, at others beautifully explosive, imagine early June of 44, or indeed early Mogwai, but in poppier yet aggressive bite-sized chunks, while keeping the intelligence and symphonic qualities. This is full-on jamming art rock for people who want to party, and party hard, on a Frank Zappa trip. Truly outstanding." - Rhythm Online
