The music of Sarah McLachlan is reincarnated as electronica on this stellar remix CD highlighted by such favorites such as "Fear," "Sweet Surrender," "Angel," and "Hold On." While McLachlan's ethereal voice and heartfelt lyrics have been the main attraction for years, they reach new heights among the nimble orchestrations of William Orbit, Dusted (Dido's brother Rollo and producer Mark Bates), the Welsh trio Hybrid, and other mixmasters. Holland's DJ Tiesto transforms "Sweet Surrender" into an infectious landscape of synth washes and techno rhythms; BT (a.k.a. Brian Transeau) turns "I Love You" into an 11-minute wee-hour dance-floor epic; Orbit takes "Black" to a new dimension with quiet strings and plodding, piercing tones; and DJ Fade's "Plenty" winds the disc down with earthy, mesmerizing beats. Throughout, McLachlan's voice soars.
