Review

Since forming in NYC in 2001, singer/guitarist Steve Salad (once the leader of underground sensations Deformo) and drummer Michael Azerrad (one of the most respected music journalists of the past decade), have been making utterly catchy, indisputably original songs that range from the wryly whimsical to the grandly melancholic, recalling everyone from the Talking Heads to the Beatles while retaining a style all its own. The band''s song "Just A Body" will be featured in the upcoming Michael Showalter film The Baxter (one of the biggest hits of the 2005 TriBeCa Film Festival). The New Yorker had this to say about The King of France: "The King of France writes catchy, intelligent, highly melodic pop-rock songs with a strong and welcome dose of Midwestern angst".
