Review

Sophomore album for Aussie artist compared to Harry Connick Jr. Recorded at the legendary Capitol Studios in LA (Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Streisand) & featuring some of the musicians from Sinatra's band. The album was arranged and produced by Peter Matz (Barbra Streisand, Noel Coward, Marlene Dietrich, Tony Bennett). 13 tracks including original & remixed versions of the standards, 'Get Happy' (Original & Radio Mix) & 'Steppin' Out With My Baby' (Original, Drum & Bass Short Mix & Radio Club Mix). 2001 release.Australia's answer to Harry Connick Jr., who has teamed up with famed Broadway producer Peter Matz (Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett). with this album, Tim Draxl has seemingly done the impossible. He's taken songs familiar to us all & made them feel alive & vigorous. Though played in the big band jazz style, these are songs that slice through easy pigeon-holing & deny a simple label, moving with a beat & swing that resound with what's happening today.
