The roots/folk duo Wishing Chair, Kiya Heartwood and Miriam Davidson, sixth CD, Underdog is full of great Kiya penned songs, "it's folk to the core," says Walter Tunis, Music Critic, Lexington Herald-Leader . There's the bluesy menace of "Underdog," political anthems like "Bully Circus," Adagio and "Outlaw Wedding," the bittersweet harmonies of Fieldtown Road Construction, "Sidewalks" and "Be," historical ballads like "Sue Mundy" and "Calamity Jane" and rocking reflections like "Oz," One Real Song, and "Highway Lullaby." Produced in Austin by veteran producer Mark Hallman (Ani DiFranco, Eliza Gilkyson), the CD features guest musicians Eamon Mcloughlin and Kym Warner (The Greencards), Cisco Ryder (Eliza Gilkyson), Robert McEntee (Navaro), and Brian Standefer (Patty Griffith).
