Review

THE YESTERDAY'S KIDS are Neenah, WI's best-kept secret and Panic Button's secret weapon. On a shoestring budget the band and co-producer Eric Thelen have created an incredible album of soaring pop punk that has the musical sensibilities of WEEZER with the crunch and bite of SCREECHING WEASEL. Can't Hear Nothin' is an exciting guitar rock record with massive melodies and imaginative productions including acoustic guitar, violin, piano, keyboards, precussion and amazing background harmonies. Stand-out tracks include "Eighteen" with its beautiful instrumental section, the piano-drive pop punk ballad "I Don't Care," the incredibly catchy critique of teen apathy "The Sh*thead" and the straight ahead punk of "She's Paul's Girl." THE YESTERDAY'S KIDS are an invigorating new band with the West Coast hooks of bands like GREEN DAY and THE INFLUENTS, the Midwest heartbeat of bands like THE REPLACEMENTS and ALKALINE TRIO with a sound fans of SAVES THE DAY will love. Can't Hear Nothin' is an undeniable album whose charm, inspiration and character put it into a class by itself.
