Review
Having worked their way from Omaha, Nebraska, to small clubs, and then on to the big time, 311 appreciate their success and the fans that got them there. That being said, one can only assume that they had the best intentions at heart when assembling their first live set. Unfortunately, those good vibes couldn't pull this predictable and relatively uneventful collection over the top. Most of the tracks here are note-for-note renditions of studio recordings. Die-hard fans will dig Live, since it does prove the Heartland reggae-funksters to be as tight and harmonically sound onstage as they are in the studio, but the casual listener should pick up Music or Grassroots first to get a better feel for the band. --Jason Pascal
